Steph Johansen

Steph is the Director of Services for directorate 4 within Making Space, which covers Yorkshire, Darlington, Doncaster and Lancashire.

Steph joined Making Space as Interim Service Manager in Sheffield in 2014. She moved into an Area Manager position later that same year and in September 2016, was subsequently appointed to her current role of Director of Services.  

Steph has worked in adult health and social care since gaining her diploma in social work in 1994. After gaining her qualification, Steph joined Turning Point as a project worker in a residential rehabilitation service. Since that time, Steph has progressed into management and went on to achieve a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from Manchester University, and a MSc in Drug Use and Addiction from Liverpool University.

During her career Steph has worked in a variety of settings, including criminal justice and community and accommodation based services. Steph has worked within a broad range of specialist areas including substance misuse, mental health, learning disabilities and older people.

In 2011 Steph moved into a Business Development Manager role with the Priory Group, which included sales, tender development and project management, providing Steph with valuable business development insight and experience.

In her spare time Steph enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to live music events and visiting Wales to watch the Welsh Rugby Union Team.
