Gaynor Chisnall, Director of Operations
Gaynor is Director of Operations and one of the longest serving members of the Making Space team.
Before joining the organisation she spent 7 years as a Houseparent in a residential school for children with autism. She then spent 3 years as Group Home Coordinator for a number of staffed homes-in-the-community for adults with autism.
In 1990, keen to be involved with a mental health charity, Gaynor moved to Making Space to take up the position of Assistant Manager at Sherdley Court.
She followed this with a period as Registered Manager at Rivacre before becoming Assistant Residential Homes Manager in 1994. In 2001 she took over as Manager.
After only a year in this post she was appointed Head of Housing, Social & Healthcare Services. She held this position until 2005 and then took on the challenge of becoming Director of Operations.
Today, Gaynor’s responsibilities include the strategic and operational management of the organisation. In this role she focuses on supporting the strategic objectives of Making Space by achieving market competitiveness and delivering continuous improvement and quality services.
In addition, she is line-manager to the Director of Services.
Gaynor is also the Registered Nominated Individual for the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for all CQC Regulated services. This role underpins her commitment to continually improving the quality of the services Making Space provides, and to giving the people who use those services a greater say in how they operate.
