Rachel Peacock, CEO/Director of Development
As our CEO and Director of Development, Rachel takes the lead in developing the Making Space Corporate Growth Plan.
Her main areas of responsibility include retaining existing business, researching and securing new business opportunities, and positioning the organisation as a leading health and social care charity.
Rachel graduated from Liverpool University with a BA (Hons) in English & History. She has a Diploma in Youth & Community Studies, a VRQ in Leadership and Management and a National Advocacy Qualification. She is also a PRINCE2 Practitioner.
Starting her professional life as a Community Development Team Leader at Wigan and Leigh CVS, Rachel moved to the Community Foundation for Merseyside in 2001 to become Director of Grants.
In 2006, she joined Action for Children, rising to the position of Group Manager before taking up the post of Business Development Manager at NYAS in 2011.
Rachel joined Making Space in 2013, bringing to the organisation her considerable hands-on knowledge of small local and large national charities, and her experience as a commissioner.
She also brings her previous skills in supporting vulnerable children and adults as manager of a portfolio of services covering Family Intervention, Young Carers and Children’s Centres.
In her free time Rachel likes to read the classics and is trying to master the art of bread-making. She’s also a passionate Liverpool FC follower – literally – sometimes travelling to far-flung corners of the world to add her support.
