About Connect Hub and Cafe Connect
Our service provides a safe and welcoming space for members of the community to drop into access a range of information, advice, emotional and practical support to improve mental wellbeing.
Support is available to anyone aged over 18 years of age, living in Warrington, who can benefit from low level mental health support to help their recovery.
Our team provides support from Monday to Friday between 9am - 5pm. Other organised groups and events happen throughout the week including evenings and weekends.
We welcome self-referrals and referrals from professionals – it’s quick, easy and we’re here to help.
The service also features a welcoming community café, offering delicious, affordable meals for everyone to enjoy.
What we offer
Our goal is to provide support focused on improved independence that suits the individual needs and aspirations of each person that visits our service.
Support we offer includes:
- Experienced staff who can help connect people to local specialist support services.
- 1-to-1 staff support, and group support where needed, to help people to talk, listen and to feel connected and to enable people to take ownership of their mental wellbeing.
- CCBT with a Psychological Wellbeing Support Worker using the online platform SilverCloud.
- Lower-Level Support with a Wellbeing Worker.
- A safe, accessible space for people to connect with like-minded people who offer peer-to-peer support.
- A chance to improve health and fitness. We know that "what is good for the heart is good for the head" and we host a range of sessions including wellbeing courses, groups promoting physical health and mindfulness and meditation.
- Guidance to navigate housing, employment, debt, emotional support, and physical health services.
- Our Café Connect offers affordable good food and refreshments on drop-in days.
- Volunteering opportunities to give support to the community by providing people with new skills, which also increase chances of employment.
- Employment guidance and advice for those wishing to take steps into the workplace.
- Opportunities to keep learning by providing courses delivered by qualified tutors.
Service update:
After a recent review and careful consideration, Warrington Borough Council and the NHS Integrated Commissioning Board have made the decision to close the Warrington Connect Hub in early 2026.
Although the Hub will be closing, there are many other local services continuing to offer wellbeing and mental health support in Warrington, including:
WBC Mental Health Outreach and Creative Remedies | |||
In addition, Merseycare is in the process of commissioning a new Mental Health Crisis Service, which will provide further support locally.
If you have any questions about the service closure, please contact Lydia Woodall at lydia.woodall@makingspace.co.uk.
