Lancaster Domiciliary Care and Outreach Service given good grade by CQC

We are delighted to share that for the second time in as many weeks we have received another successful CQC report for one of our services. Our Domiciliary Care and Outreach Service in Lancaster has achieved an overall 'good' rating in their recent inspection.

The report, which was published in April 2016, covers the period of the recent floods in Cumbria when very vulnerable people were totally isolated and at great risk.

Inspectors present many examples of innovative and person-centred care and support, and our team are praised by the people who use the service. One person said, "They (the staff) are worth their weight in gold. If I need to go to the hospital or doctors they will support me."

"The registered provider worked innovatively to encourage people to live active lives within their community."

"People who used the service told us they felt safe"

"People who used the service were positive about the staff who worked for Making Space Domiciliary Care and Outreach Service. Staff had a good understanding of each person in order to deliver person centred-care. People's preferences, likes and dislikes had been discussed so staff could deliver personalised care."
