Not one, but two new roles for Lesley

Earlier this week , our marketing team caught up with new Trustee, Lesley Reznicek, to find out more about why she decided to join Making Space, and more about her second appointment in as many months.

Why did you decide to Join Making Space?

“My family joined Making Space at its inception many years ago. I feel now is the right time for me to consider a ‘Trustee’ type role. To bring my skills and experience to Making Space, an organisation that has provided care and support to my sister for so many years is the perfect opportunity.”

Lesley has wide ranging experience in human resources and holds a Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Lesley says:

“I particularly enjoy employee relations and governance. I am also passionate about retailing, which is where my working journey began many years ago.

Lesley’s arrival at Making Space is not her only appointment in recent weeks.

For three years, she served in Co-operative Group governance, most recently as a Regional Board Director. In a move to reform and modernise its governance, a member Council was born. Lesley not only joined it but was elected its first President until the AGM in May.

“I was surprised but I am determined to ensure that the main building blocks are put in place to ensure the Co-operative Group governance has good structures going forward.

“It is a particularly poignant moment for me as my father not only helped set up Making Space but he was also very active in the Co-operative democracy as my family has been for over 100 years. I am so proud to be a part of both organisations and look forward to the challenges ahead”.

We would like to wish Lesley the very best of luck in her new roles.
