Rachel Horton

Rachel is one of the Regional Heads of Operations in our Supported Living Division, providing support to managers who work in our services across St Helens, Warrington, Cheshire, Knowsley, Liverpool, and Sefton.

Working in health and social care since the age of 18, Rachel has dedicated her career to supporting others to live full, independent lives. She has held a variety of roles including Support Worker, Senior Support Worker, Care Coordinator and CQC Registered Manager, gaining a deep understanding of the sector along the way. After years of admiring the work Making Space was doing, she jumped at the opportunity to join the team and was thrilled to be offered the role of Registered Service Manager.

Now, as Regional Head of Operations for Supported Living, Rachel is passionate about making sure every person we support receives tailored, person-centred care that helps them achieve their own unique goals. She works closely with our teams to ensure services run safely and smoothly, while empowering staff to feel supported, confident and capable in their roles.

“What sets Making Space apart is how much it values both the people we support and the people who work here. Everyone’s wellbeing is a priority, and staff are genuinely encouraged to grow and succeed.”

Rachel’s proudest achievements include improving CQC ratings through strong leadership, achieving a promotion within Making Space, and planning to enrol in her Level 7 in Senior Leadership.

The biggest influences in Rachel’s life have been her mentors, whose guidance and support over the years have helped shape the way she leads today. “They gave me the knowledge, confidence and experience to drive positive change and deliver the highest quality of care.”

Rachel is passionate about Making Space, saying; “It’s a fantastic organisation to work for, we support some truly amazing people, all teams are supportive of each other and we all demonstrate our organisation’s values in everything that we do.”

Outside of work, Rachel loves to travel and spend quality time with her family and friends.
