Shane Parnell is our Associate Director of Operations and is also responsible for CQC regulated services in the North West and the Coventry area.
Shane joined Making Space in February 2023 and has worked in health and social care for more than 30 years in a number of operational roles, including working as part of a senior and executive management team. Shane did however start his career with Making Space as a tenant support worker back in 1996, before progressing to the role of Area Manager and later took up the position of Regional Director, before leaving us in 2010.
In his spare time he likes to spend time with family and friends. Shane also enjoys motor sports, anything mechanical, DIY and walking in the countryside.
When asked why he wanted to work for Making Space, Shane said, “I have always had a great admiration for the work that Making Space does and I want to be part of its continued growth and development, providing high quality services to some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
“I also feel that Making Space is a great place to work and would highly recommend it to anyone starting out in social care. I’m a prime example of what can be achieved. I am really pleased to be back”.
Shane’s biggest influence in his life is his parents. “They both worked in Social Care for the majority of their adult working life and it’s their values that have been instilled in my life and what now underpins everything I do. I feel that these values are very much aligned with those of Making Space”.
