Our People Awards

Booking for Our People Awards 2025 is open!

We are so pleased to let you know that event is on Friday 18 July between 10am (entertainment starts at 11am) – 3.30pm. The event is taking place at Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.

Every year, we come together to celebrate the amazing individuals we support with a one-of-a-kind event packed full of engaging activities, exhibitors and unique experiences. With help from our Making Change group, we’ve put together a day brimming with hands-on activities, exciting stalls, and delicious food.

We will be revealing more from the days schedule in the coming weeks, but you can already look forward to exciting highlights such as a live musical performance, an immersive dance experience, a heart-warming awards ceremony, and much more.

Please note: You will need to book tickets for staff and the people you support. A maximum of 15 tickets are available to be booked per service.

Booking closes on Friday 20 June or whenever the tickets run out. Tickets will be given on a first come first served basis and once the guest list is full, we will open a waiting list.

Volunteering

We are looking for volunteers to help us make the event the best it can be. These volunteers will be the go-to for any information, support and, most importantly, enthusiasm on the day. If you think you fit the bill, get in touch with our volunteering team.

Please note, any Making Space employees will need to have permission from their line manager to volunteer.

Awards

We want to celebrate the achievements of the people we support and give them the recognition they deserve.

To honour their efforts, we will be hosting an awards ceremony during our event and each category will be based around what’s important to us, our 5 values.

Do you know someone who deserves to be acknowledged? You can nominate them below. Nominations must be submitted by Friday 20 June.

FAQ’s

We have put together a list of frequently asked questions to provide as much information about our event as possible. If you have any more questions about the event please get in contact with us at marketing@makingspace.co.uk.

A member of the marketing team will get back to you as soon as possible.

Who can attend?

The event is for the people we support and our volunteers, staff are also welcome to attend if they are supporting someone on the day. If you are not someone we support or a volunteer for Making Space, but would still like to attend, email marketing@makingspace.co.uk. There is a limit of 15 tickets per service for this event.

Will I be able to bring someone on the day if we haven’t booked?

We won’t be able to accept people who haven’t booked a ticket to your event.

Will transport be provided?

We encourage our services to book their own transport but we can provide support if needed. A mini bus is a great idea if there are a few of you coming from the same area. Talk to other Making Space services that are local to you and organise a joint mini bus. Please book the mini bus and claim the cost back using cost centre 0024-2704. If you need support in booking your transport, please email marketing.

Is the venue accessible?

It's important to us that our venue and event is accessible for the people we support and our volunteers. The Royal Armouries are committed to providing an open and accessible experience and have developed a series of tools and resources aimed at helping visitors plan their visit and get the most out of the museum. To read this information click here.

Will there be a quiet space?

We will have a designated quiet space at the venue, designed to give you an opportunity to take a minute to yourself. A volunteer on the day will be able to sign post you to these areas.

I need to cancel my ticket, what shall I do?

If you need to cancel your ticket, please email marketing@makingspace.co.uk and we will cancel this. Please do this at the earliest convenience as we will have a waiting list and we will offer your ticket out to someone else.
