Making Space connects with local partners at Warrington Business Expo 2026

Published 24 March 2026

Making Space was proud to attend the Warrington Business Expo on Friday 20 March at The Village Hotel, Warrington, a fantastic event bringing together over 30 local businesses, charities and professionals to connect, collaborate and grow.

Representing Making Space on the day were our CEO Rachel Peacock, alongside members of our Fundraising Team and Trustee Elaine Johnstone. Together, the team spent the day building relationships, sharing insights and championing the vital role of social care within the local business community.

Our Fundraising Team hosted a stall throughout the event, offering a welcoming space for conversations with local organisations interested in working with us. The team spoke to businesses about how partnering with Making Space can:

  • Support a national social care charity making a real difference in communities
  • Help organisations achieve their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and social value goals
  • Create meaningful, purpose-driven partnerships that benefit both people and business

The event also provided a great opportunity to raise awareness of our upcoming fundraising event - Retro Party Live, this October 2026 at Warrington Parr Hall - a high-energy celebration of the greatest hits of the 70s, 80s and 90s , all in support of Making Space, find out more here.

As part of the Expo, our CEO Rachel Peacock took part in the ‘Why Warrington’ interview series alongside Tom Jennings, hosted by Rebecca Wray.

During the discussion, Rachel spoke passionately about why Warrington is such a powerful place to base a charity. She highlighted the town’s thriving Civil Society Movement, with over 12,000 people volunteering every month and a strong network of organisations dedicated to supporting community wellbeing.

Civil society movements are made up of non-governmental, non-profit and voluntary organisations - such as charities, unions and community groups -that operate independently from government and market forces. They play a vital role in advocating for public interest, human rights and social justice, while helping to strengthen democratic participation and accountability.

Rachel emphasised how this spirit of collaboration creates real opportunities for organisations like Making Space to grow, innovate and make a lasting impact.

Rachel also spoke about how Making Space works alongside businesses to support their CSR ambitions, whether through partnership opportunities, fundraising, or offering guidance on how to embed social value into their work.

By working together, we can create stronger communities, improve wellbeing and ensure support reaches those who need it most.

The event took place during Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2026, adding an important dimension to the conversation. Rachel shared her personal perspective of neurodiversity, highlighting the importance of using inclusive and appropriate communication.

She spoke about how small changes in the way we communicate can make a big difference, helping to create environments where everyone feels understood, respected and able to thrive.

Attending Warrington Business Expo was a valuable opportunity to strengthen connections, share our mission and explore new ways of working with local businesses.

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to speak with our team on the day. If you’re interested in partnering with Making Space or learning more about our work, we would love to hear from you.
