Celebrating our finalists at the Housing with Care Awards 2026

We are incredibly proud to share that Making Space has been shortlisted for four awards at the Housing with Care Awards 2026, recognising the dedication, innovation and compassion of our colleagues and teams across the organisation.
Run by Care Talk, the Housing with Care Awards celebrate the very best in accommodation and support services for older people, people with learning disabilities, and those living with mental health conditions. The awards shine a light on innovation, raise awareness of diverse housing and care models, and honour the incredible frontline workforce making a difference every day.
Meet our 2026 finalists
The Activities Co-ordinator Award – Sharon Hatton, Sherdley Court (Prescot, Merseyside)
Sharon has been recognised for her inspiring, person-centred approach to engagement and wellbeing. With a belief that “anything is possible,” Sharon creates meaningful opportunities that build confidence, independence and social connection. From helping people reconnect with hobbies and interests to developing strong community partnerships, her work ensures residents feel empowered, included and valued. Her creativity and dedication have transformed engagement across the service, helping people live fuller, more meaningful lives.
The Activities Co-ordinator Award – Joanne Lee, Kingshill (Wigan, Greater Manchester)
Joanne has been shortlisted for her outstanding ability to create connection, joy and opportunity. Through a vibrant and inclusive programme of activities, Joanne supports people to build confidence, reduce isolation and stay connected to their community. Whether organising trips out, bringing live music into the service, or leading creative sessions, Joanne ensures every individual has the chance to take part, feel valued and try something new.
The Care Team Award – Ivanhoe Road Team, Rotherham
The team has been recognised for delivering exceptional, person-centred supported living. Since opening in 2025, the team has created a safe, empowering environment where people are supported to build independence and confidence in all aspects of daily life. Their strong communication, shared vision and commitment to dignity and respect underpin everything they do. Through their collaborative approach, they are not just providing care – they are creating a true sense of home and belonging.
The Supported Housing Innovation Award – Amberley Slope Supported Living Team, Peterborough
The team has been shortlisted for their innovative and life-changing approach to care. Their work demonstrates how creative, integrated support can transform lives. From embedding rehabilitation into daily routines to working closely with NHS partners to improve access to healthcare, the team consistently finds practical solutions that enhance independence, wellbeing and quality of life. Their forward-thinking approach is setting new standards in supported housing.

Finalists from across the UK will come together for the awards ceremony on 5 June 2026 at the Hilton London Bankside.
Whatever the outcome, we are already incredibly proud of this achievement and the recognition it brings to our colleagues and the people we support.
