Jump July skydivers raise more than £8,800 for Making Space

Brave colleagues, volunteers and supporters have raised an incredible £8,881 through Making Space's Jump July fundraising campaign, taking to the skies in support of the charity and the people who draw on our services.
Launched in partnership with national skydive operator Skyline, Jump July invited participants to challenge themselves by completing a tandem skydive while raising funds for Making Space or a local service close to their heart.
Throughout July, supporters from across the organisation embraced the challenge, with many conquering their fears to experience the thrill of a lifetime – all while making a real difference to the lives of others.
The jumps have raised thousands of pounds for services across the country, including:
- Ant Gaffney (Volunteer) – £1,690 for St Helens Family Support
- Craig Muldoon (Volunteer) – £1,423 for St Helens Family Support
- Leanne Taylor (Team Leader) – £402.50 for Cedar House Respite Centre, Lincolnshire
- Preethi Bateman (Operations Admin Assistant) – £488 towards Making Space's general funds
- Rachel Horton (Regional Head of Operations) – £628 towards Making Space's general funds
- Vicky Morin (Service Manager) and Johnna Miller (Team Leader) – £1,705 for Halton Supported Living
- Nina Davies (Service Manager) and Tracey Horbury (Support Worker) -£1,676 for Castlewood Court, Stockport and Bluebell Lane Supported Housing, Knowsley
- Carina Connolly, Team Leader - 422.50 for Knowsley Supported Housing
Although Mayowa Oduguwa was sadly unable to complete her skydive due to personal circumstances, she still raised an impressive £383 for Knowsley Supported Housing.
Participants described the experience as unforgettable.
Johnna Miller, Team Leader at Halton Supported Housing said:
I definitely have the bug and will be booking to do it again when I have annual leave in August. Amazing experience and I'm so happy I did it.
Volunteer, Craig Muldoon said he was delighted with the amount raised for a "fantastic organisation that saved my life last year", adding that he knows the money "will be used for important activities for those who are supported by the service.”
Leanne Taylor, Team Leader at Cedar House in Lincolnshire, said:
If anyone can get over the nerves, it is a once in a lifetime experience and one of the most amazing things I have ever done in my life.
Making Space Fundraising Manager, Bob Towers said:
We have been absolutely blown away by the response to Jump July. Every single person who signed up showed incredible courage and determination, and together they have raised an amazing amount to support Making Space and our local services. Whether people have already completed their jump, are waiting for a new date or have supported by sponsoring friends and colleagues, every contribution has helped make this campaign such a fantastic success. We couldn't be prouder of everyone involved.
Although July has come to an end, there is still time to support this year's campaign.
