Published 6 March 2025

We are inviting local businesses, organisations, and entrepreneurs to a free networking event, 3 Minutes to Digital Detox, at The Village Hotel, Warrington on Thursday, 27 March, from 5-7pm.

Held in support of National Unplugging Day on 7 March, the event will explore the impact of technology on mental health and wellbeing, both personally and in the workplace. Attendees will hear a series of engaging three-minute talks from industry experts, covering topics such as the effects of excessive screen time on mental health, recognising signs of digital addiction, and practical ways to manage technology in our daily lives. The discussions will also touch on using social media in a healthier way, supporting children’s mental health in the digital age, and making the most of offline time to improve overall wellbeing.

Corporate Fundraising Lead at Making Space, Natalie Bargery, said:

"At Making Space, we are committed to creating a workplace where mental health and wellbeing come first. In today’s always-connected world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by constant notifications and digital demands. That’s why we’re encouraging our staff to take part in a digital detox - stepping away from screens, reconnecting with the present moment, and prioritising their wellbeing. We also want to support other organisations in doing the same, helping workplaces prioritise digital wellbeing for their teams."

The event is free to attend, and guests will receive a goody bag filled with digital detox and wellbeing resources. Click here for more information and to reserve your ticket visit.

We’re looking for more speakers to join our event! If you have an idea for a talk and would like to get involved, we'd love to hear from you. Email our Fundraising Team at fundraising@makingspace.co.uk to discuss your ideas.

Could you go screen-free for a good cause?

We are also challenging you to take on a Digital Detox – a chance to step away from screens, boost your well-being, and raise vital funds for people in need. Whether you choose a day, a week, or every Sunday in March, you set the rules! Take a break from social media, certain apps, or all digital devices, and use the time to reconnect, unwind, and enjoy the world around you. Just pick your detox, set your challenge, and fundraise for Making Space! Know someone who needs a break? Nominate them! If they succeed, they donate £10 – if they fail, they donate £50. It’s a win-win for well-being and a great cause! Find out more here.
