Caring for someone
About Peterborough Carers Wellbeing Service
We understand that being a carer for a loved one can take its toll on your own physical, emotional and mental health. We are here to support you in your caring role, help you to navigate the social care system and perhaps help to bring some balance back into your life with increased knowledge and understanding.
Our adult carer support service, funded by Peterborough City Council, provides you with a team of carer support workers who are experienced in understanding the needs of carers and in offering support to help meet those needs.
What we offer
We work with you on a one to one basis with a named support worker. Our service is tailored to fit you, and we are led by your needs.
Our support isn’t time limited and we will support you in your caring role, for as long as you need us. So whether you simply need someone to talk to about your own concerns, help with the complex needs of the person you care for, or someone to speak on your behalf, we are here for you.
Our friendly and experienced staff can offer:
- One to one support with a named support worker
- Advice, information and signposting to specialist support
- Help to access statutory carers needs assessments
- Groups and activities to encourage per support and a chance to have a break.
