Tuesday 25 February was a pivotal moment for social care as Making Space joined thousands at the Providers Unite Day of Action in Westminster to advocate for vital social care reform, raise awareness of its economic and societal value and demand better funding.

In January, Making Space received a meaningful painting by Ian Peters, a Bolton Carers Service volunteer, now displayed at our Warrington head office. The artwork reflects the resilience and unity of our ‘Windmills Not Walls’ campaign during Covid-19.

This Christmas season, Making Space was filled with warmth and generosity as schemes across the country hosted a vibrant array of events. From Baking Space fundraisers to festive parties, we brought joy to the people we support and their communities.

Celebrated every year on 5 December, International Volunteer Day (IVD) looks to recognise and celebrate the efforts of volunteers and inspire more individuals to dedicate their time and skills to causes that matter.

October saw the return of one of the most heart-warming events on the Making Space calendar, the Our People Awards 2024, an inspiring day dedicated to celebrating the incredible achievements of the people we support, our volunteers, and our colleagues. Held at Aintree Racecourse, this year's event brought together over 300 attendees to enjoy a day filled with uplifting stories, engaging activities, music, and most importantly, laughter.
