Making Space is proud to support Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2026 (16–22 March), promoting understanding and inclusion for neurodivergent people. This year’s theme highlights the importance of recognising that it takes all kinds of different minds to build stronger workplaces, services and communities.

Making Space is celebrating national success at the Great British Care Awards 2025, with three colleagues crowned national winners and another Highly Commended at the prestigious Birmingham finals. With 11 finalists shortlisted across multiple categories, the evening was a powerful recognition of the compassion, innovation and person-centred care delivered by our teams across the country.

We’re celebrating our 73 apprentices this National Apprenticeship Week 2026 and the #SkillsForLife they’re building across Making Space, including Stephen’s journey to Service Manager.

Shaped by lived experience and developed in partnership with colleagues, volunteers, people we support and inclusion specialists, this landmark strategy sets out our commitment to building a genuine culture of belonging, where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered to be themselves.

Three exceptional women from Making Space have been shortlisted for the 2025 Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care (WAGS) Awards, recognising their leadership, resilience and impact across the sector.

This International Men’s Day (19 November), we’re celebrating the inspiring men across Making Space who bring compassion, balance, and purpose to social care. This year’s theme, ‘Inspiring Men and Boys,’ recognises positive role models and the power of empathy, equality, and connection. Meet some of the men making a difference every day — and discover how their stories are helping to break stereotypes and inspire others to join a career in care.

On Thursday 20 November, we’ll be joining carers across the UK to mark Carers Rights Day. This year’s theme, ‘Know your rights, use your rights’, highlights the importance of carers understanding the support and protections available to them. Our teams will be hosting and attending events to celebrate carers and help them access advice, wellbeing support, and their full rights.
