Making Space has celebrated the dedication and compassion of colleagues at our fourth annual Colleague Awards. From long service heroes to inspiring newcomers, the winners highlight the incredible impact our teams make every day.

We are delighted to share that We All Are One – Making Space Carers Support Group in Doncaster has been named a finalist in the Carers UK Awards 2025. Recognised in the Community Group category, the nomination celebrates the group’s inclusive and compassionate approach to supporting unpaid carers, and the incredible difference it makes to people’s lives every week.

Stockport Connect Hub has officially launched! Making Space is proud to lead a new chapter of community mental health support in Stockport, delivering the Mental Health Prevention and Enablement Service from a refreshed and welcoming space at Progress House. The service launched with two vibrant community events and is now open daily, offering a wide range of support and activities.

The 2025 Our People Awards brought together nearly 270 guests for a joyful day of celebration at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds. With music, activities, and inspiring stories, the event honoured the incredible people we support and the power of co-production in action.

We pulled out all the stops to thank our brilliant volunteers at this year’s celebration event at Doncaster Racecourse. With over 60 volunteers from across the country, a Dolly Parton tribute act, and even a surprise duet from Deputy CEO Phil Orton, it was a fantastic day of fun, food and appreciation.

A unique dining event in Doncaster gave people with swallowing difficulties the chance to enjoy a safe, dignified meal out – thanks to a partnership between Making Space and Wiltshire Farm Foods. The event highlights the vital role corporate support plays in delivering inclusive, life-enhancing experiences.

Colleagues, volunteers, and the people we support came together for a sun-filled day of remembrance, and community spirit at the Making Space Canal Walk 2025.

Residents at Hollymere and Hartley Place have spent the past year celebrating Ellesmere Port’s working-class heritage through the Port Histories Project. Funded by Historic England, the project ended with a joyful finale event attended by the Mayor of Ellesmere Port.
